The Network of Open Organizations operates on a philosophy of partnership and collaboration. Participation is voluntary and open to all organizations who share the Network’s vision. The Network aims to be diverse and inclusive, with participation from all parts of the world. All participants contribute to regular convening agendas and activities. Convenings involve shared facilitation, shared ownership, shared note taking and a diversity of approaches. The extent of participation is self-defined by each organization. In general, the value derived from the Network is related to the effort put in. Areas of focus and agreement to pursue collective initiatives are mutually defined and agreed on. Not all organizations need to participate in every project or initiative.
